Festival Lead Deck

Overview

Festival Lead focuses on pairing Thwackey with Pokémon that have the Festival Lead Ability, most commonly Dipplin and Seaking.

Thwackey's Boom Boom Groove Ability allows you to search your deck for any card once per turn as long as your Active Pokémon has Festival Lead. This gives the deck strong consistency and allows it to quickly find the cards it needs.

The Festival Lead Ability allows your Active Pokémon to attack twice in one turn while Festival Grounds is in play, letting the deck take multiple Knock Outs or deal heavy damage.

Game Plan

Festival Lead usually wants to go first and focus on:

  1. Getting a Festival Lead Pokémon Active.
  2. Setting up 2–3 Thwackey on the Bench.
  3. Finding and maintaining Festival Grounds.

Some matchups require Bench space for tech cards, making two Thwackey enough.

Keeping additional Festival Lead Pokémon available helps the deck recover if your main attacker is Knocked Out.

Strengths

  • Can attack twice in one turn.
  • Fast and consistent setup.
  • Multiple attackers provide Weakness advantages.

Weaknesses

  • Relies heavily on Festival Grounds and Abilities.
  • Low-HP attackers are vulnerable to spread damage.
  • One-of cards and smaller Energy counts make prize checking important.

Final Thoughts

Festival Lead is a fast, consistent deck that rewards careful sequencing. Its ability to search for key cards and attack twice makes it a strong option for players who enjoy aggressive strategies.
